For over a decade, Dunn County had one of the highest Circuit Court judicial needs within the State of Wisconsin. In the spring of 2020, the legislature submitted a bill signed by the Governor, allowing the Director of State Courts to add an additional judicial branch to up to four counties in the State of Wisconsin. Dunn County was selected, and the third judicial branch was created, effective August 1, 2021. I would be honored to serve as the trial judge for Branch 3 and put my skills and experience to work for our Dunn County community.
I believe it’s important to have judges from diverse legal backgrounds working to serve Wisconsin residents. While most Circuit Court judges have criminal law experience, I’ve spent more than 15 years pursuing justice on behalf of people who’ve been injured or lost loved ones in negligence-related accidents. My civil trial and appellate experience will allow me to bring a different perspective to the bench.
Circuit Court judges play an important role in providing justice, fairness, and honor within our legal system. It’s a big responsibility, but my desire to serve is born of my love for the Dunn County community. I am a lifetime resident of Western Wisconsin and a graduate of Menomonie High School. During high school, I was fortunate to be a member of the undefeated 1997 Menomonie Football state champion team. I then earned my undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and graduated law school from William Mitchell in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I was very fortunate to return to Menomonie to practice law with my father, Michael Wagner. Since 2013, I have served as a part-time Dunn County Court Commissioner.
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing softball and volleyball. I try to spend as much of my remaining time with my rescue dog, Hank.
If elected, my top priority will be to help balance the caseload among all three court branches, so litigants receive timely court appearances and trial dates.
